Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 (7200RPM) Question

The max supported transfer mode for both the HDD and my Abit IS7's IDE controller is UDMA-6, but currently it's only running in UDMA-2. Does anyone know where I can find options to modify this? I've throughly checked the BIOS and Windows options for the HDD.

are you using an 80 conductor ata66/100/133 cable? the 40 conductor cable is limited to ata33.

I figured out it was the cable just after I posted, but thanks, lol.

Now I'm using one of the IDE cables that came with my IS7 and the transfer is up to UDMA-5 or ATA/100 I'm guessing. The cable should support 133 as do the HDD and the motherboard. Any ideas on why it's not running that fast?

EDIT: Scratch the above. Sandra lists the max transfer rate as UDMA-6 but my IS7 user manual says UDMA-5. Sorry.. 🙂
