For those of you in Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex you might want to check out my first, numero uno, virgin, rookie, ect post which deals with Maxtor DiamondMax Plus Ultra DMA 100 hard drives.

Electronic Discount Sales, with locations in Irving and Arlington has the Maxtor 30GB HD model number "5T030H3" on sale for $99.00 and the 40GB HD model number "5T040H4 on sale for $129.00. I believe this is an upgraded model from what is normally for sale at Staples, BB, CompUSA, ect.

It will probably dissappoint everyone to know that you don't have to have coupons, you don't have to price match, you don't have to send in MIR' and you don't have to be there at 6am on a holiday!

All you have to do is pick up the product off the shelf, pay the sale price and have a live human being say "THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS". Takes all the "fun" out of getting in on the normal "HOT DEALS", but what the heck it's getting late in the day! Use business name as listed above and add .com to get locations and addresses. I already got my HD at lunch so come and get it!

AAHHHH EDS!!!
J/K I recently bought a minitor from there, I like the bigger store they have now, they used to be a little place over by New York St but now its in a much bigger store. Well, Good deals if you dont mind some used or refurbed items.
Thanks,

They are OEM package but I do believe I got documentation with the drive. Of course the drives are new in the box with manufacturors warranty in effect. I liked the deal just because I get fed up with PM's, MIR's, $OFF coupons, limited availability, ect and always waiting for someone else to just do their job, like they are paid to do.

Man, good thing it's Maxtor so if you have problems you can deal directly with them and not with EDS. When I used to live in Dallas, this place was definitely one to avoid - pirate software, terrible pc's, etc. Just a warning to anyone thinking of venturing out that way.

It it's OEM, then this is pretty much a normal price. I found 5 vendors on Pricewatch selling them at this price.
