These rebates are really getting ridiculous. Just about any tech product has at least 2 rebates.

I must of mailed out at least 40 rebates in the last two months from all my christmas shopping.

I guess in a way its a good thing.. Come january, there will be an influx of cash to pay all those CC bills :)

If you can get a 20 off cpn to work, this is a wonderful deal, otherwise, its a so so deal...

Frankly, check out ebay.. 200 GB drives going for under $130... dirt cheap..

$15 off worked. Better than nothing, I guess. This is a great deal to give out as gifts.

Yea, last time they had the drive for $50 AR, the $15 worked on tech items too, whereas the $20 didn't work. In any case, the ratio comes out to 44 cents a gig, almost as good as Best Buy's 42 cents per gig ($50/120GB) on BF. Not bad :)

Wonder when 38c a gig will become routine (Fry's BF $60 WD 160GB) :)

Ionizer86,

Better check your math.

Assuming typical 7% sales tax, $100-15 cpn = $85 * 1.07 = 91 (w/tax) - $ 50 (MIR) = 41 / 80 = 51¢/gig.

:)

Well, the thing is that every state has different taxes, and we know we're gonna pay. So when we do calculations, we usually see things as-is (ie 80GB $50 --> 63c per gig). Of course, there's also the stamp, envelopes, yadda yadda to consider. But hey, the most important thing is that these retail deals are very cheap compared to buying from online vendors :)

This will be the second time I order one of these hard drives. Lets see what RAID is like.

Read over the rebates and both of them say one rebate per product per customer so hopefully I don't have to much hassel getting them to honor rebates on two drives.

I have not had any probs with the OD rebates, just that they like to pull them off the site.

The only coupon code I can get to work is also the $15 off $75 good deal with free shipping

Where I'm at in IL, we're at 7.25. If you live in chicago itself, it's either 8.5 or 8.75 (possibly 9%)

7% is good here in Illinois. The cheapest in the Chicago area is 6.5% and I don't know cheap it is down state. I like to head over the border into Kenosha, WI for bigger ticket items because the tax rate is just over 5%. Makes a decent difference on a $1K or more item and since I live up near the border anyway. Of course, I love to buy things across state line through mail order or online the most because you skip out on sales tax all together. Most of the time anyway. If they ever change that, it will kill mail order and online sales because paying shipping and tax is just too much.

I got a call from OD today about my In-Store pickup order, and they want me to bring in the actual coupon :( I'm considering just showing up and saying that I threw it out. Either that or I will just not pick it up at all. I chose to pay for it when I pick it up, so if I dont pick it up, I don't pay for it.
