Last time I bought one of these drives (can't remember if it was staples of another office store) I did NOT recieve a fluid-bearing model; other people taking advantage of the same deal had mixed results.
I paid ~$95 for it then; the Barracudda IV was around $10 more from newegg. As soon as I installed the Maxtor I instantly regretted not paying a bit more for the Seagate drive (which not long after was available from dell for under $90).
Yes it is ATA133, comes with cable too. The drive is working great so far, quiet. I do video capturing and ATA 133 and UDMA helps alot, less frame lost. I ended up got the drive for $30, since I sold the CDRW for $55. Good luck guys!
I can't find the 32x10x40x cendyne burner anymore on the staples website. I heard over at fat wallet that this item was discontinued?! Can anyone please give me some enlightment on this situation? If so, could i pull this deal off at the store if they have it. Thanks.
Xtasy is correct, this is a dead deal now. No more CD/RW with $50MIR. Closest is a 40x CD/RW for $80-$20MIR which shoots this deal all to hell IMHO. That puts this at $110 AR.
Do you think it is possible to use that $50 off $200 coupon in store? Oh well, i will just combine the $60 maxtor 60 gb hard drive deal with the the $20 memorex 40x12x48x burner from office depot.
This deal never went away. The only "catch" is the CD-RW is discontinued so it may be hard to find, most Staples will be out of stock but there are still a few left in the US.
Are there any $50 off printable Staples coupons? I can't find any.
bah, I just went to pick up my 2 drives that I had reserved and it turns out that my $50 coupon is expired (9/5/01 - I didn't notice the 01). As soon as I can find a printable coupon, then this deal is all mine, just can't find a printable coupon. Hell, I'd even settle for $40!
