Great deal.

I picked up the WD 80GB last deal; but Win98SE wouldn't play nicely after partition and format. It showed another disk in Explorer; but selecting it resulted in an error about missing device. Any ideas why? I'm running a Soyo K7VIA (VIA KX133) M/B. I'd love to upgrade the HDD; but it's useless if it doesn't work with the system....

Thanks for any help.

you know, not everything on earth comes from fatwal|et. There are a hell of a lot of bargain sites out there, and fatwal|et gets their deals from other places too. There's really no need to give "credit" for where you found a deal.

Not that it really matters, but I'm pretty sure this is actually an ATA/133 drive.

Heh, not that it really matters. The 100's and 133's perform about the same, but I bet when you get it, it'll have a neato "Feed your need for speed" sticker on it! :D

I think credit should go to who ever posts the deal here first. I give full credit to eXtremist for posting the deal for the AT'ers. Thanks!

This isn't his material, is it? So you are saying if I copied a invention and claimed it as my own that it is mine? I don't think so.

Uhh because it isn't the same thing. Do you compare killing an insect with killing a human being? Uhh no I don't think so. So give the guy helping out a break sheesh. God some people are anal 24/7.

Mr. Bell is a classic example of this. He in fact, did not invent the telelphone, but instead bought the patent and claimed it as his. Now, after so long, do we care that Bell didn't invent the phone? Nope! Neither will we care that this deal was posted somewhere else.

We can only hope that in time you'll get over it.

Just ordered... I was going to get the hard drive alone, but with the better coupon and extra rebate, it is better to get with the CDRW...thanks

Boomer2 - The fault is Windows98. Format and FDisk will not properly report disks higher than 64GB. There is a 'fix' of sorts for this over on Microsoft knowledgebase - Format and FDisk will work fine but cannot report out properly. I believe Win2000 and XP are fine up to some currently ridiculous size (just like 64GB was ridiculous two years ago ;) )
