I've had recent experience w/three new WD 20G 7200RPM ATA100 Caviar drives,.........they were all virtually silent, as compared to my other components,............ DVD-ROM, case/cpu fans, and that churning little floppy fuc*er.........!
I just purchased my first Maxtor, a 30G 7200RPM ATA100 Diamond Max,...........I sure hope it is as quiet as the WD's ...............?
I read nothing but praise about the Maxtor's, some even comparing it to the IBM's, ....... until after my purchase............?
