Buy.com has it listed for like $219, but look at it and it say Plus with 5,400 RPM. Diamond Max = 5400 Diamond Max Plus = 7200.???

Z-buy.com CSR said it's Diamond Max Plus.

And the model # on Z-buy.com matches the Diamond Max Plus Model #.

I wasn't aware that maxtor made the 60 gig version @ 7200 rpm. It stands to reason though with the new 15 gig per platter tech.

madmax111- you got staples to pricematch the drive from z-buy even though it isn't the retail version?

Yeah, didn't they notice the "Bulk Pack" in the description? Maybe you got lucky :). I just bought the 60gb 7200rpm ata100 maxtor drive the other day, came with a free ata100 card bundled inside. I think it has 20gb per platter, but I could be mistaken.

Yea, why. What's the bulk pack mean anyway? Drive only?

You can get a free ATA 100 card if you want to buy it and do the maxtor rebate.

the retail maxtor 60gb 7200rpm ata100 hard drive has the promise ultra100 card inside of it (well actually it is relabeled as a Maxtor ata100 controller card but has promise technology printed on the card). There was a little sticker on front that said "Free ATA/100 Controller Card inside!" or something like that.

I bought mine at my local staples, but all retail maxtor 60gb 7200rpm drives should have it I think (the compusa ones that I saw had the same sticker on them as well). If you need proof, I can take a picture of the sticker :) The retail maxtor 60gb 7200rpm drive is the only one that has it bundled inside though.

So how do you use the pricematch and coupon at the same time? Do you phone it in and get them to pricematch, then tell them about the coupon? It would seem to me that they would only give you the matched price not with the coupon. Anyone??

Order item.

Check stock.

After order done, ask for PM.

Give PM info.

After PM, ask to apply coupon.

So do I order online and call for the PM/Coupon? And they will accept the coupon after the order has been placed (and with the pricematch)?

Thanks!

This retail 60 gig drive including the ata 100 card is eligible for a rebate, as a card and drive combo?

I just took advantage of this one, total came to about $195 shipped, not bad! I've been needing a new drive this size, thanks for the deal!

Smoothie, let us know if the drive comes w/ the ATA controller when you receive it. Thanks. :)

P.S. Can anyone verify that if you'd have to buy another ATA card separately in order to apply the $50 MIR in the case of the drive already comes w/ the card in one single package?

Thanks a lot.
