I think that many local Microcenters still have this available...so if you have a local store, the deal is still good...

In Cambridge they had 28 listed in stock @ 5:00 pm. They had them hidden someplace and I had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to dig one up. I was there on Monday and had noted they had a pile on the floor with a $49.99 sign out. Thanks NFS4 for letting us know about this deal. I love the $20 - $30 hard drives I have been getting lately.

Damn it, you guys are killing me with some of these deals. :)

Ok, now here is a dumb question.... How do you pricematch? (Yea, yea... I know, I know.) But seriously.

Do you just call up Staples (or whomever) and say, "Hi Dan-the-sales-guy, billyjoesupersystems.com has the SuperJammer Stink-Rocket for 5 cents -- you guys charge 10 cents. Give'em me cheap stuff." And then they just give it to you for 5 cents??

And how do you pricematch in person? Do you just print off a screenshot of the cheap SuperJammer Stink-Rocket on billyjoesupersystems.com's website and show the checkout person?

for online, order, then call up after a couple of hours and explain where you see it for cheaper etc. they will verify and either accept the PM or deny. phone they will verify and accept/deny before you order. in store you take with you the print out. in this case i did:

printout of microcenter for $50
printout of rebate
pritnout of authorized dealers, microcenter being one of them.....

turned out, OD just looked at the printout of MC and said ya

is there a printable 15 off 50 floating around? I couldn't find on google or fatty. (this is not a request for the coupon itself)

I receive coupons from Officedepot in the mail about every other week or so, so I had a personalized coupon. There is an instore $15 off $75 coupon/card that almost every Officedepot is handing out to encourage holiday shopping though. You can just ask for this discount and they will most likely give it to you. My local stores are covered in flyers offering this $15 off $75 special....

I went this morning to Staples for the 30 gig. I got them to pm the drive to MC for $50 (manager was a little hesitant but he did it anyway) and I also got the pny 256mb pc133 ram pm'd to Compusy for $29. Both have rebates ($20 from maxtor and $15 for the ram.) You can then use a $15 off $75 (which I forgot at home cuz' I'm an idiot :|!)

30 gig: $46.99
256 mg: $29.49

subtot: $76.48

-$15 coupon (doh, forgot to use!)
-$20 maxtor rebate
-$15 staples pny rebate

grand total: $26.48 ! for ram + hdd

edit: yeah I got the $15 off when I returned!

:( MC deal may be dead, site no longer lists hdd. :(

Best I can do now that it's OOS at MC:

+$89.99 @ OD
-11 (PM CompUSA 110% @ $79.99; product_code=296883)
-$25 ($25 off $75 OD Coupon)
-$20 (Maxtor Rebate)
=$34 APM AC AR

Minus implicit cost of time invested, the deal is tepid.

Edit: Language and CUSA url.

CheapArse The $10 off $50 is only available through a link online. Don't see how you could use it in store. There is no code#

Staples PriceMatched this for me.
I used a $10 Email Coupon (on $40 purchase). My final cost is $15+tax

Use $4 Aurora Calculator (Free After Rebate) and /or CDRs to make it $40.

Does anyone have a shot of the Microcenter page with the Maxtor 30Gb at 49.99? I need it for doing a BVG with Amex. I had it up a couple days ago, but forgot to save it. If you have it and will share, please PM me.
Thanks

I ordered 2 of these drives last week and got an email notice that they were out of stock and back-ordered :(
This morning they sent another amail saying they had just shipped my drives :)
Now I can play with RAID on my new motherboard.
