Acoustic management is on by default for these drive. You can disable it via POWERMAX that came with the CD.

I ordered this drive for delivery yesterday, I got my confirmation email minutes later stating it would be delivered on 10/29, but I checked today, 10/25, and its on the truck for delivery. Woot!

I purchased this HD for my son as a gift. The purchase is billed to my credit card, but it was shipped to my son. We both live in the same house, and we both have the same last name. Should I put my name on the rebate form, or should I put the person's name that I bought the HD for? Or does it even matter at all? Both names will appear on the receipt and invoice, and I was wondering which name to put on the rebate form. I didn't think of this until after I placed the order. Otherwise, I would've just shipped it to myself.

I can't get the $20.00 off $75.00 to work. Is it because it's out of stock, or what? I've tried submitting coupons from several different websites and they get rejected. Am I doing something wrong. I'd appreciate any help you can give me, I'm new to this online shopping with coupons.

Could not get the order to work a few days ago, but when I went back today, it remembered what was in my cart from then, so at one point I had one in stock and one on back-order, along with the Canon i320 printer that has been floating around on these pages that I picked up at the store after being unable to get the online order to work.

I dumped the printer and the backorder drive from the cart and went to check out. There, I made the mistake of specifying a store pickup. Not only did it completely empty my cart but, when I went to search for the dirve again via the weird item number (searching for simply "Maxtor" does not find it) it told me nothing was found, that the item number did not exist!

I wound up having to put something else in the cart with a price high enough to trigger the $20 off 75 coupon (a pain in itself, since everything I tried seemed to be out of stock), then went to checkout, then changed to home delivery, then emptied my cart, then did the item number search again and the item magically reappeared! Go figure. Anyhow, my total price is $64.79 before MIR, so I am a momentarily happy camper. The order cannot be changed, and delivery is supposed to happen on Thursday.

It appears that if you change to store pickup that it will only search the inventory of that store, and if they do not carry that drive, or carry it under a different item number, then you are out of luck.

I deleted all cookies and tried it again both last night and today with a coupon from DealSpree.com. I keep getting this message "Coupon 000008073 did not meet requirements and can not be applied. Please, review the coupon requirements and try your request again"

I'm gonna try a coupon from a different site.

The coupon doesn't say it has to be redeemed with in stock items, is this the problem? I'm stumped but will keep trying different things I guess.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

I just loaded my basket with the $20 off $75 from 247coupon.com. It's working as of this post for me and I had used the same coupon Sunday morning to get this drive.

Just tried purchasing it again via 247coupon.com's $20 off $75 and it's telling me it's on back order. Yes I deleted all cookies. I have tried entering various zip codes within a 90 mile area without any success. I'm believing it's not meant for me to get in on this deal.

Very good deal. Meets the $1 per Gig requirement.

I passed but still a good deal.

I got that 120GB WD for $74 instead.

Thanks! Couldn't get it ordered online, so called customer service at Maxtor. Faxed them my online order form which wasn't working, and they took care of it right away!

Damn! I ordered one on the 20th. Never got a confirmation (did anyone?) and under STATUS it said something like "Waiting to fill" or something like that until the 23rd. Then it changed to "In the warehouse" or something like that....but it also changed to "10/23/2002" under DELIVERY DATE. :Q Then Thursday (24th) the STATUS changed to "on the truck"...and DELIVERY DATE stayed on "10/23/2002". Then yesterday, STATUS got changed to "Delivered"...and of course DELIVERY DATE never changed. I called up OD's 888 number for customer service and told them I never got it and she said that it shows that it was signed for...I asked her to tell me who signed for it and wouldn't you know it...she couldn't get it to come up on the screen.

So now they're going to call me back Monday (yeah right, we all know that'll never happen) to straightan it out. I guess I'll just have to call the bank up and get the charges dropped...no $1/gig for me. :(

I got my drive last week (10-22?). And today, I already got my rebate confirmation from rebateshq.com!
Hope the rebate comes soon, so I can re-invest it ;)
