Maxtor 300 GB PATA hard drive: $69.99 shipped at Outpost.com

Argg... Must resist the temptation as I still have 3 brand new hard drives sittin in a corner from past deals.....

yup saw this yesterday, but figured someone had already posted this becuase Im usually behind all you guys and your massive quickness.

Ordered one today and cant wait to replace my crappy old 80 gig thats filled to the brim

The web sites not letting me add to my cart (the CSR said they were having problems) but you can call and still order it that way.
Nice deal! Thanks OP!

Not sure if I should buy this or not. Currently have a 250GB hard drive, it has 90GB free space left. I am using up more and more. Maybe I should put some of those files on a new hard drive as backup. Called the number but they are closed. Hmmm .... it is a hot buy but wondering if I should get it ... how often do these deals come up? And is there a chance a SATA drive this size or bigger will be at this price? Hard drive prices have fallen greatly in recent months.

The deal is NOT DEAD. I just called outpost 5 minutes ago, and I was told they had lots in stock, and a "huge shipment" coming in tomorrow. The link you posted above BIGFOOTPI works fine and I was able to get it in my cart that way. The product page still is not showing...but it's there.

Sounds like a great deal but Maxtor is UNRELIABLE...last 2 HDD I got burned out after about a year--Terrible quality YMMV

Maxtor is not unreliable. If you don't like the HD manufacturer in the deal, how about you don't post?

If you are so sure they are unreliable, why don't you show me some actual test data that shows them to be more or less unreliable than other manufacturers.

Why is it everyone has trouble with a hard drive or two, or read posts on the internet, and then think they can claim that information is proof manufacturer "X" is "unreliable"?

*sigh*

Ordered one too... now I will have this AND the 100 gig SATA drive... sigh, I guess that is how it goes 😀
