It doesn't say whether it's 1.5GBps or 3.0GBps, but that's a pretty high capacity drive for the price, n'est-ce pas?

Yeah, this seems like a pretty good deal...
As far as 3Gps, I'm not %100 sure...

Maxtor's website says the Maxline III serious are equipped:
MaxLine III Spec's" SATA 1.5Gb, SATA 3.0Gb or PATA interface"

EDIT Did some more digging... it appears that this drive is 1.5Gb being the part number ends in SO where as the 3.0Gb part number ends in FO

Either way, pretty good deal for $104 shipped two day free!

earlier this year it was one of the best performing SATA drives (aside from raptor).
Seek time is 9.3 ms, transfer rate about 37mb-66mb a second.
And the maxline has a great warranty length.

In fact many people bought the diamond max 10 since it was basically a relabled maxline III with a lower warranty but was often much cheaper.

Goodness... that WD Caviar is a good deal as well. Its brother, the Caviar SE16 400 is MaximimPC's Top pick this year, $110 for that 250gb WD speed demon is hot!
Kinda wish I didn't just buy the Maxtor this morning...either way, very good deals in this thread!

EDIT: You should start another thread for the WD Caviar deal!

seagate bought maxtor, don't know what they will do on the warranty of maxtor drives. would be sweet if they do the same 5yrs as their seagate drives

Possible, and I probably trust WD more than Maxtor, but the 3 year warranty tempers that a little I guess.

I had a diamondmax 10 and it broke...i would rather have a 5 year warranty for less performance as anything of any brand can break....especialy if you leave your computer on all the time, using bittorrent to download...open source software.... often then a higher warranty would seem like the better deal IMO

I agree, but at the same time Maxtor has a rep for bad drives for a reason...

Still a hot deal though!
