First post, but crap away if you think it's not a hot deal :)
Not a bad deal IMO - check out the "unadvertised specials" section on their site.
Rebate seems to be from Maxtor, which has been pretty good to me in the past
(don't have to wait a year to get it back).

"compucrap" is correct. 160gb maxtor is good and stable drive. it's fast too. raid these maxtors and have a super fast loading machine.

I greatly prefer the high-capacity high-performance Maxtors to the Western Digitals. However, unless you're lucky enough to stumble across one in an older box (I saw a few at the Fry's in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago) you will only get a 1-year warranty instead of 3-year.
