I said "Thank you very much!" Is my math right, $0.57/GB?

I am assuming that the difference between your $91.95 and my $95.25 is due to tax rates. Is this correct? I pay a 8.25% tax rate :disgust:

sweet deal in the $/GB category. On the other hand, in my experience Maxtor drives are not terribly reliable and warranty replacement is not nearly as liberal as WD (WD will rma anything that you claim makes an unusual sound, maxtor wants bad sectors or lawn mower audibility). Finally, if this is a MFG rebate, I just want to emphasize Maxtor takes substantially longer than Staples, Best Buy, or WD to process (I still haven't recieved a rebate I submitted in november - it claims it's being processed).

edited to add: oops, according to rebateshq.com, my rebate is finally being "fulfilled". <jumps for joy> And to think it was only recieved 120 days ago! ;) (6-8 weeks my ass!)

One caveat you can only use the 20 off 100 coupon cause after the pricematch the 50 off 200 is unusable at staples. Well at least for my csr.

Just HAD to buy another one, but this time with the $30 off coupon...(I've used the $20 off coupon already, so I had to use the $10 off on my first order - total was $112.34 shipped. This was before I discovered sat4fun's ingenuity with the $30 off :))

$235.38 (Ordered online: $249.98 drive - $30 coupon + tax)
$141.23 (Called live CSR - LeeAnn, CompUSA PM, credit to my VISA)
-------
$94.15 TOTAL

$112.34 + $94.15 = $206.49 for two of these bad boys...you can't find ONE at that price, normally. :)

LOL...man this is INSANE.

Very sweet post

Called Staples - they were able to PM to COMPUSA at the post rebate price (129.99) - added 20/100 coupon (37126) Total = $103.06 + tax!

Thanks!

considering that SATA isn't really available right now, you're going to be waiting a long long time before SATA drives will get this cheap. (as in $/gig)

I had a $30 off $150 coupon & tried to order over phone. Csr tells me that they are oos and they are not accepting any more orders for this item at this time.:Q

Ordered online using same coupon, called for pricematch. Credited for 110%!

Flaming!! :sun: :sun: :sun:

It's the 8 meg version.

Called CSR, got mine pricematched + $50 off $200 coupon floating around. Total came out to $57.09.

Heh, sweet!

EDIT: Oops, I just checked my e-mail and noticed the tax of about $18. So $57+18 = $75.

Hey those that got it already, is the ATA 133 card included in the same box? That's what it says on the Maxtor site. TIA.

Or just trying answering his question with a simple..."Yes".

Hey, I wasn't sure because maybe the card was a promotion given away by CompUSA only. Like in a separate package. So I just wanted to check.

Thanks lowenbotten and f u sk3tch.

The model #'s are the exact same on both, and earlier in the thread they talk about how it is a BOXED Maxtor drive...if people would just read up on things before posting then wasted bandwidth could be avoided.

We all help people, but people also have to help themselves sometimes - especially when the answers are so very obvious and easy to find!

No need to curse me out...but if that is how you are...then so be it. I have no ill will towards anyone, but I just dislike redundancy.

They wouldn't give me the full discount though... they wouldn't pricematch the mfr rebate, so I got a better deal after coupon but not too much better than CompUSA. Anyone think I'd have any leverage if I called back and tried to get a price adjustment?

I love Staples, though - their CSRs are always really, really friendly when I give them a call.

EDIT: oops... should've used the coupon ONLINE then called for the pricematch. my bad.
