Is Staples still sending rebate checks on those stupid postcards? I've had several over the last couple of years that got tossed out with all the junk mail.

Patient - "doctor, doctor, it hurts when I do THIS"
Doctor - "don't do it"

Haha, that is a good one (not). Exactly why I brought up the point. I don't intend to do a Staples deal as long as they send the rebates out on postcards. The chances are great that a rebate postcard (no envelope or covering that hides the amount or content) will be stolen or tossed out. Perhaps it's because I'm in the DC metro area, which sucks as far as mail delivery, cable TV or good cheap internet access goes.

Maybe I'm just slow and this was supposed to be assumed, but I purchased mine at the local Staples since well... it's faster than waiting for it to ship and then screwing with UPS to find a time when I'm home and they deliver.

Anyway, the rebate for the hard drive says good on orders from staples.COM only, so does that exclude Staples physical stores? Am I SOL?

i live in the DC metro area, it ain't so bad ;) i tend to get all my rebates on those postcard things w/o a problem... *knocks on wood*

doesn't matter, this rebate isn't from staples, it's from maxtor.. or rather, a maxtor/staples.com special. the rebate isn't in the rebate center database.

Are you refering to my question about the rebate being good, or was that directed towards the quote of it being sent on a postcard?

As long as you're submitting the rebate to Miami, FL, you're getting the check in the form of a postcard.

If you bought this drive last week you can PM to CompUSA for $139.99. I've done it and so have countless others at obese billfold.

I second that - I got a $10 credit with just a phone call and price match to compusa.

YES! Love Staples, they will take my rebate anyway:
"Thank you for your inquiry regarding our online rebate processing. Our record indicate that your rebate submission should be valid, even if it was purchased on the store."
