Call OD and place your order, PM to Frys that has the same drive for $89.99
OD has a valid rebate of $60.00 , which brings it down to $29.99 + local tax.

YMMV

PS: You can also try to apply a $15off$75 on the phone, but my CSR say "NO"

If you get it thru, then your cost would be $14.99 + local tax AR/PM

Good luck

I just called OD and said i wanted to order item # 774952 and PM to Frys for $89.99
That's all it took.. and told them I wanted to do local in-store pickup, and granted.

that's odd... they wouldn't lower it passed 119.99. Not quite sure, they said something about a PO price and that they cannot lower it passed that.

And another thing is:

How do Office Depot coupons and rebates affect Office Depot's price and its price match policy?

Coupons, instant rebates, and mail in rebates offered by Office Depot will be deducted to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy a product from us for $10, and we offer you a $3 rebate or a $3 coupon, the net price to you is $7. Should another company offer that product for $8, we would not match the $8 price, since your net price is already lower at $7. Sorry, we will not match mail in rebates from other office product or consumer electronic suppliers.

so, technically speaking you *shouldn't* be able to get this. So, i guess it's a big YMMV. :-/ i guess it's a sweet deal if it works for you. And even if they don't match it to 89.99, but just 119.99 and you get the 60 dollar MIR, it's a net price of 59.99, which is better than the outpost.com deal for the product.

sweet! i called in and did a successful PM (didn't bother trying the coupon). i have a printout of my order for $89+tax and i'm going to pick it up tomorrow. after the $60 rebate, i'm geeked about this deal. i've been patiently waiting for a hot deal w/ a 300GB+ HD to store all my media. currently, i have a mishmash of 80GB drives.

Woot, just placed my order for in-store pickup. CSR didn't like the coupon, but I'm going to try in-store.

question: when i picked it up at the store, they printed a "generic" receipt that didn't have the HD's information on it. it just has the total i paid. i DO have a printout of the in-store pick up (with HD info) from officedepot.com. will that work for the rebate?

Just called, they said that the item is discontinued and they aren't going to be receiving any more shipments.

Phone PMs often have a short life, the rebate loophole is sure not to last too much longer.

call OD and ask them to fax you an invoice, that's what I did and my Rebate is on its way.

Went a picked mine up today. First, they told me no pricematch, because there's no local Fry's, because they do a 'local business atmosphere' that does not include .com deals. Then, the manager saw the $60 rebate, decided he wanted one too, and actually started working with me. I saw him bring 2 up from the back. He got it down to $102.80 before rebate, because the pricematch had to include the $9 shipping from Fry's, plus tax. After the $60 rebate, should be around $40.

Also, no go on either of the $15 off coupons because they're not good on 'tech' items.

Edit: And rebate form mailed. :D
