Question Maximus XII Formula and PCIe 4.0 drive speeds?

Amused

I have an Asus Maximus XII Formula.

I can't seem to find the answer to this question:

With the latest BIOs update that allows 11th gen intel processors will I be able to fully take advantage of the PCIe 4.0 speeds of a Samsung 980 Pro?

Thanks!!!

No. The motherboard also needs to support PCIe 4 and the Maximus XII Formula doesn't. In addition to supporting the protocol, there are also signal integrity requirements to support 4.0. That isn't something you can enable via BIOS update.
