Wow. Looks like a lot of people want to enter the race...

But hey, at least you made the call :) -- I'm still up in the air about it. I get 90% of the way to to a final decision, then I see another one and start all over. Mabye I'll even end up with one of these myself, who knows.

$350 for S1155 board that won't even guarantee compatibility with 6- or 8-core processors? I bet you will be able to get a solid $200-250 LGA2011 board for that much $.

Sure someone got a world record on air cooling with this board, but anything beyond 1.40V and you are probably asking for a quick death on SB processors on 24/7 overclock at load. I mean anyone can crank 1.55V through a 32nm chip to break some wPrime and Cinebench 11.5 scores. It's totally different to maintain a healthy overclock. Once you consider the real world case, the difference between a $350 and a $150 board will be practically nil.

Ditto! I'm stting on a 2600k and trying to decide which way to go for MB and RAM. I'm "currently" leaning towards the "dont need $350 MB and $200 RAM" idea to get these things working super good. Jury is still out though. :|

The upcoming 2011 boards are going to be able to take the quad core 1155 processors?

Sorry if my statement was confusing. Because of the limited pin layout (1155) and having onboard GPU, Socket 1155 may not even support anything beyond 4 cores. As far as I am aware Intel only confirmed that LGA2011 will support 6 and 8 core processors. Ivy Bridge may or may not go to 6 cores on Socket 1155. Now if you spend $350 on a motherboard, and you are stuck with 4 cores only, what is the point of such a high-end board? That's my point.

Thanks much for the clarification -- I didn't think it would, but just wanted to make sure. You had me going there for a minute... :)

Got my tracking number from Newegg.. :)

I got mine from fecex. I went fedex 3 day, as every time they have beat that and made 2 day, and in the morning. Even with ups 2-day, they always show up at 6-8 pm at night ! Took a shot at getting it early. My HSF comes from svc.com, and it always seemed to beat the egg by a day, even though its also 3-7 day !

So its Wed or Thursday for me !

The last time I selected 3 day select it took 8 days to get to me. Never again

I want this mobo so bad.. but only because the box looks so damn sexy.

ASUS&

:D

but i found the bluetooth module most interesting.
Was wondering when they would implement them as standard features on the boards seeing how most smart phones now are bluetooth syncable.
