I was just flipping through the latest issue of MaximumPc which has a showdown between the Celery2 700Mhz and Duron 700Mhz. The systems were fit with identical components and here are some of the results.
Q3: Duron 42.2fps; Celery2 41.8fps.
SYSmark 2000: Duron 127; Celery2 124
3DMark 2000: Duron 3726; Celery2 3629
Now I want to know if the person who did these benchmarks need another pair of bifocals. This is the first review in which the Duron only managed to edge the Celery2. If I remember correctly the Celery2, even on an overclocked 100Mhz FSB at 800+ Mhz still couldn't best the Duron 600 in Anand's review.
MaximumPc also claimed they could only overclock the Duron 700 to 714. They then recommended the Celery2 over the Duron if your an overclocker since you'll be able to get more performance that way.
I want some of what he's smoking cause it's got to be real good.
