What is the maximum extended (long term) temperature rating for the pentium 4 2.6 ? I would like to get as much time out of this computer as possible. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thx

thx for the limk. However, is the 75c a momentary temperature or a sustained temp., that will not hurt the longevity?

if my p4 was ever running at 75C i would turn off the pc as fast as i possibly could and diagnose why it was running so hot. 75C is not a good thing for a cpu.

Assuming you haven't overclocked the CPU or changed the heatsink to anything other than a retail one, Intel guarantees that you can run your CPU at the default settings at 75 degrees C for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Of course if you are looking to O/C its more likely that u will reach the limit of the cpu before u reach a heat limit especially with P4's
