so many 'bench pressers'....jeezzzuusss.....

I think the "I got laid 10000 times" and "i press 200lbs benches" are conflicting each other posting....thats why nothing shows up in this thread :)

Yoi guys have a laugh on my 85 lbs (+ 45 lbs bar weight) :D But I am not caucasian guy, my genetical disposition is quite different. And considering I started working out only in March 2004 it is good. :p

I do sets of 3 sets with 100lb. dumbbells for my bench....I could probably go up to reps of 110, but the gym doesn't have anything higher than 100lb. I would assume I could max around 130-140lbs on the dumbbells....but I'd be worried about breaking my wrists....it's easy to mess up with the 100lbs....

I wonder what that translates to the barbell bench? Does anybody have any good guesses? I should try it sometime...

edit: I only weigh 195lbs.

I start my chest work out with 250 plus a 15-lb bar, could probably get 300 up once but haven't tried. In high school I tried getting 150 up once at a friend's house and I may as well have been trying to lift a house. Thing didn't budge, friend laughed :p

160,000 pounds. Actually came close to pegging the needle with a stubborn Gorman Rupp shaft.

Cheers!

I wasn't really focused on my arms... but now I am because I'm done with my legs.

125lbs bench press for now and increasing.

For leg press, I've done 425lbs for 10 reps. 375lbs for 5 reps in squat press. They are so easy.

That's the reason why I wanted to reach 350lbs in both leg and squat presses so that I can work on my arms.

<~~ Was an hardcore athlete in high school then.

Figure that you should be able to do 2-1/2 to 3 times the weight of one dumbbell when you're doing barbell presses. The ratio depends mostly on how used to doing the exercise with a barbell or dumbbell you are and your particular style. (If you use a wider grip in the barbell bench press, you may be able to lift relatively larger dumbbells than if you're used to a narrower grip.)

If you normally use dumbbells are are not used to using a barbell, you're probablt closer to 2-1/2 times as much than you are to 3 times as much.

(Isn't it a little silly to have the highest option 200+? If it were 200+ kilos, that might make sense, but I'd expect that most people could do 200+ pounds.)
