Straight rip from FW, mega-credit and thanks to HotStuff2. I just got in on it and I pick mine up on Wed/Thur.

The Maxent MX-50X3 is on sale at Best Buy. Its MSRP is $2999. It is not widely on display, but in the system (SKU#7335485) and warehouses.

It is on sale this week for $2568.
Also this week there is a $100 off TVs sale making it $2468.
In addition there is also a 10% off one item coupon for opening a new rewards zone account that I don't think I can post here, making it $2222.

THe extended warranty is $299, usually $399. I didn't go for it though because it doesn't cover burn-in. I might change my mind next week when I pick it up.

Great AVS thread

is this deal still active? You said sale is this week, does that mean the week of Friday the 11th, which just passed?

Or is today, Sunday, still part of this deal.

The new ads start on Sunday and the $100 off promotion has ended.
However the $2568 price is still in effect and now they give you a $200 gift card.
The Reward Zone 10% off coupon still works until 11/21 - the day before Xbox 360 gets released.

This deal has gotten slightly hotter this week with the $200 gift card, but I would rather have the money in my pocket instead of buying overpriced cables from Best Buy.

Does this mean the 42" Maxent plasma tv (Model: MX-42VM11) is also made from panasonic glass and circuitry?

Agreed. I picked one up and overall am pretty happy with it. Price for size, seems like a great deal.

The downside was that it took BB over 45 minutes to sell it to me (from the first time I spoke with a salesguy to them swiping my credit card) because they were so inept that they couldn't figure out how to ring it up. They only had the display in store (no thanks), but 90 in a warehouse 15 minutes away.. and took them that long to figure out how to let me pick it up at the warehouse. (which is an entirely valid thing to do) I almost walked out, but stuck around for the deal...

The threads over at AVS and FW have turned into clueless people theorizing about things they have never seen... yeesh.

I finally borrowed an OTA HiDef receiver from a friend. Wow. I wish I could do a side by side comparison with a more expensive set, but all I can say is, for the money, this looks great.

Feeding it Fox in 1080i right now and it looks beautiful.

The AVS thread isn't that bad. It has some good info for suggested starting points for the settings.

I picked one up today! Will have it Friday afternoon. I figured with the extended return policy (Jan 25th), I can't go wrong.

WOW! I'm gonna check this thing out in person tomorrow. What a ridiculous price for a 50inch plasma.

Check ChubbyWallet or just search the web. We're not allowed to post coupons or anything in these forums. Look through the post on FW or AVS.

Rich folks, $2222 is uber nice for for 50inch plasma, but for a poor college student thats tuition cost.:(

I got mine last night. It's freaking awesome. So much so, my Mom is going to purchase one today after she came over and saw it. She's cancelling her Panny 50U order. This will save her over $900 for basically the same display.

FYI all buy.com has a flat mount that should work fine (haven't gotten mine yet, but will get it tuesday) for $70. Look for the Sanus VPML250 - silver has free shipping, or black you had to pay for...g

I was afraid the first time I wall mounted a plasma. I've hung 4 or 5 by this point and never once had a single problem with any of them. Just use a heavy lag bolt or two through the stud in your wall. They hold WAY more than what a 50" plasma weighs.

Let me know if that works out for you and I'll order one for me also.

BTW, this TV simply rocks. I compared it to my DLP Mits 62725 and the HD picture is much better on this TV although the SD display is better on the Mits. I'll try S-video for SD on the Plasma instead of component and see if that helps. This is one of the best purchases I've made in a while. So far, VERY pleased.

I saw the maxent brand at Costco and I must say the picture looks alot better than some of the name brands.
