I went to the local staples and found out that all of these maxell dvd-r were made in taiwan, so it's not as good as it was made in japan, right?

LOL.

You go ahead and trust your Maxell media. I'll stick with Fuji TY's :) :D :p

I use both and both are much better than anything out there. Although I had a couple of spindles of fuji TY that disapointed me and this recen batch of ritek G05s justs makes me sick.

50pk for 17.94 is spensive :(
I'm used to buying generic 4x 100pk for 16.00 or 200 for 32.xx
Too much...
I can burn them all at 8x, that's the beauty of it using NEC burner

Too much? You're forgetting that this is quality media, not plain ordinary "generic" stuff. I've used "generic" media before too, but over time they either don't hold up as well, some players refuse to play them, or you'll end up with an occasional coaster. But hey, if you're happy with the generic stuff you buy, then stick with it. Others will know what I'm talking about. You get what you pay for.

Some people seem to like Imation CD-Rs. If you do, Officemax is having a sale on a 100 pack spindle for $19.00

You can also pick up a 50 pack spindle of Sony CD-Rs at CompUSA for $8.99. I've used them before, and haven't had any problems.

Amazon.com has a 50 pack spindle of Verbatim CD-R's for $9.99. No tax and free ship on orders over $25.... This is what I'd probably go for.

Circuit City has a 50 pack of Philips CD-Rs for $7.95. Also, a 50 pack of Maxell CD-R's are $13.99. I've also had very good results with the Maxell's.
