Maxblast software freezes up and wont finish running.
i need to make this drive into FAT32 so windows will let me partition it! anyone know the step by step?

thanx in advance

Problem fixed! i had never used FDISK till now 🙂 Sheesh i must be spoiled or ignorant 🙂

Why do you need maxblast? Your motherboard should be able to detect your HD just fine allowing you to partition and format in DOS. I've never had to use maxblast.

Fong,

hey there

Radeon and Maxblast do not play together. I think it has something to do with the hardware cursor calls in dr-dos being incompatable with the card. It always locked up after it was checking the sys config. SO basically you have two choices, either change cards (yeah right...) or just use a win95/98/me etc boot floppy and fdisk and format from that. Not as pretty but it works.

<<Just boot off a floppy to DOS and use fdisk to partition it, then format it. >>

Do whats stated above. The Maxblast software came with my hard-drive, never used it though.

Thanx for all yer input, i am gunna try all of the recommended right now will let ya know what i come up with, i used maxblast software before with my 60 gig on my other machine worked great oh well...................... thanx will be back.
