Max Voltage for Socket 939 Athlon X2 chip.

In another thread someone said that they had read that the maximum safe voltage for a Socket 939 dual core Athlon was 1.45 volts. That seems a little low to me. What are people's experiences with overclocking this chip?

Heck, my Socket 939 motherboard's lowest CPU voltage setting is 1.40 V.

my abit board won't let me go below stock vcore of 1.35 on my e6750. What cpu are you using? 1.4 is probably your stock vcore. It seems highly unlikely that you could only safely overvolt the chip .05v.

Currently using an nForce4 motherboard with a Socket 939 Opteron 148. Hoping to upgrade to an Athlon X2 4200. I just find it a little bothersome that 1.45 would be maximum safe voltage. I figure that I might want to run it at 1.5 or 1.55 at some point later in it's life (when the machine is starting to feel old and slow) in the hopes of overclocking it a little further than whatever I get at 1.425.

no offense intended, but, um, it is already old and slow. Go for 1.5 to 1.55 and see how much more you can get out of it!

i have ran my 3800+ x2 toledo up to 1.65v (at very safe temps) for 2 weeks 100% stable with prime and F@H (3.04ghz)
but for everyday use i keep it at 1.5 @ 2.7 and it has lasted me going on 2 years now

IMO it would be 1.55 max with a nice HSF. Keep an eye on the core temps as well.
