I was tryin to format my 250gb WD hard drive... but win xp during begining of installation would only let me put a partition size of 105mb for some reason.... Is that right or am i doing something wrong there?

I cant have a partition of 200GB in XP?

Hmmm I selected NTFS... for XP and wasnt able to select a bigger size of 104gb to be exact... I donno why... This was back like a year ago when i first bought this drive... but havent tried to play with it again since then... I tried everything though as i rememmber... coz i knew that cant be right... maybe smthn to do with multiple hard drives... ( i had another old Seagate 80gb sata drive while tryin to install the second drive)

There actually is a limit on the size partition you can create using a pre-SP1 XP home setup disk. I had forgotten about this but was reminded when I installed Windows on my fathers new PC & just grabbed one of a bunch of Home setup CD's I have sitting around... it would only allow me to use 105gb's of the 320gb HD in his new system, but I just re-booted with a newer version that had SP1 built in & it saw the whole drive.

hmm It actually is an XP Pro on the old sata that i rebooted with but not sp1.... Maybe it has to be Sp1 to see larger than the 104gb.... very weird considering XP is supposed to be an advanced enough of an OS
