Max overclocking on Epox 8K7A - questions

I am trying to overclock my 1.33 Ghz Athlon on the Epox 8K7A motherboard, and have a few questions. I know about proper cooling

Please answer as many as you can:

1. If I set the FSB speed to 150, will the PCI and AGP speeds also increase proportionally? Or is there a way to keep those unchanged?

2. Do I only need to change the Vcore if the overclock fails, or are there additional voltages to tweak?

3. Are there other settings (besides the multiplier) that can help me overclock, like memory settings, etc?

1. Yes they will change, the chipset does not support the required dividers to keep pci and agp busses in spec.

3. Well not realy(unless your ram cant run at 150MHz at certain timings and you just take some timings to higher values )

They will always increase proportionally. 150 / 4 is 37.5, which is just a litter faster than normal (33). However in the mobo section, they have a leaked bios with a 1/5 divider. That way, you can run at 166 MHz and keep your PCI in spec (but AGP will NOT be in spec)

If you want 1.6 GHz you usually need a 450 enermax or so. I get 1470 on my 350 enermax. Depends on chip.

Also, Your 5V line. Watch it. If it dips below maybe 4.6 or so on full load, you need to do the 5V tweak. Also, you can up the ram (DDR) voltage with just the flip of a jumper.

Make sure AGP fastwrite is DISABLED. Make sure 4 way interleaving is ON (I forgot its epox name, darn). Set mem speeds to max. Set AGP apiture size to 128 megs. Lots of little tweaks.

1) Both PCI and AGP are on the FSB. They'll increase with it.

2) Umm, try setting the DDR Voltage as well (up it one notch).

3) Go into your BIOS memory settings page (I think its called &quot;Advanced Chipset Settings&quot and set the numbers all the way on the bottom to 8882622.
