I'm planning to use my computer as an entertainment system. I've got the dvd drive, 4.1 sound, mp3 collection on it, so it seems like a waste to buy a standalone dvd and surround sound for the tv (yes, I'm cheap like that - getting married and fiancee is in med school, so money's slim right now).
Anyway, the tv and computer are in different rooms. Can anyone tell me what max cable lengths are for what I'd need to run? I'd need audio (2 lines, 1/8" headphone connectors, from GameTheater XP soundcard to BA4800 speakers). Video - RCA jack video out from computer to TV vid in (computer could do svideo, but tv doesn't have it). Some kind of control - keyboard/mouse, perhaps a wireless system in which case I'd have to run the wires to the receiver still (putting the receiver in the tv room that is). How about USB? I know it doesn't have very long max runs, unless you daisychain powered hubs, but even then it's not terribly long.
Thanks!
