That's Mavericks in N.Cal. They're the biggest waves in the World you can paddle into. Anything bigger, like Jaws in Hawaii, you have to get towed in.
 
cool, I don't surf, I grew up in the midwest, but I a friend of mine that lives in San Francisco is really into it. I've always wanted to learn, but that just looks like madness.
 
I'm living in AZ now. I've been trying to plan a time to get over there and try it out. Or maybe even Rocky Point Mexico, it's a little closer. My friend Mike said I shouldn't try anything over 15ft to start out on.
 
Here is Jaws in Hawaii. They're taller than Mavericks, but way smaller in volume of water in the wave. Mavericks in No. Cal is the yard stick by which all other waves are measured in the world.
