Thanks, a lot for the response. That is exactly how I feel about it. This is a pretty sparse build. I may as well set the HDD on the bottom, so both it and the extra PSU cables may have plenty of space of their own to live.

EDIT:
I have compared idle BIOS reported temps with side opening covered to uncovered: covered: 38C/36C (CPU/MB), uncovered: 39C/38C (CPU/MB).
