i watched the latest Fast & Furious movie and fell in love with the matte black paint on the Dodge Charger. Up until then I never really seen any cars with this paint on the road. Then just a few days ago I see a guy driving a matte black Chrysler 300 with matching rims (20s or higher). Damn, that thing was badass.

Are there many cars out there that come with this paint job? I was on autotrader looking for a Charger with matte, but couldn't find one. Anyone else rocking this paint job?

I keep seeing it on M3's, I'm not convinced, in the rain it doesn't look great and apparently it's a pain in the arse to clean.

How do you clean and care for it?

Soap and water no car wash I have been told by a M3 rep.

This was on the 1080 Matte solid or the CF options. If you want to see what they look like there are pictures all over the internet. I have thought about wrapping a company car matte black but have been too cheap thus far to do it. I would get pissed everything I would open the hood since the paint there would be another color.

Nice thing about vinyls is they are not perm.

quality wraps get expensive but at least its reversable. I seen a lot of people using gloss vinyl on their roofs instead of painting them black.

It's called "murdered out" in some circles. Well done, it's very nice.

There's a nice turbo Buick locally that I admire..

I thought that wrapping a car was bad for the longevity of the paint. Maybe I was misinformed.

Matte paints are very hard to car for. Sap/bird droppings etc can etch them quickly. Anyone tries to polish or wax one, the car is pretty much fuxored.

The Frozen Grey M3s have big warning stickers on the passenger and driver's windows warning "DO NOT WAX OR POLISH THE FINISH!"

Yea so... you can't treat them at all? There isn't any oil or sealant or anything? Doesn't look like you can buff out scratches, either.

Looks like Matte finishes are good for cars that are never driven outdoors...

Others have mostly said what I came in here to say. It had better be a garage kept under a car cover vehicle and not a daily driver. You only want to take it out when the weather is perfect and when you get home it needs to be cleaned. Water spots are permanent. Any rubbing scrubbing on the paint will create a visible spot. It really is only for show cars.

The high end cars in Matte are driven on special occasions.

No rain or snow, most are driving in town to the event they end up at...I am sure a lot are knowing their cars are getting detailed while partying inside.

Drool. If there ever was a car MEANT to be matte/flat black, this is it.
