Matsonic Motherboards

yes, they suck.
Pretty much like ECS, but they don't perform as good. They are not reliable, or particularily stable, they fail early, and aren't good for anyone that wants to enjoy their computer.

Asus may be overpriced, but at least you get quality consistently. Thats worth a lot more then they charge for to a business, maybe not to some kid building their own computer though.

<< Well, I guess if you consider PCchips crap then you will also consider the same thing for Matsonic. >>

All the Matsonic boards I have seen really are low quality.

From what I have heard ECS, PCChips, and Matsonic are all the same company (All are part of Elitegroup Computer or something like that). And all are garbage. A recent survey of resellers in the current issue of Computer Reseller News (CRN) magazine ranked ECS lowest among the major manufacturers by a large margin. Their cumulative score was something like 62 out of 100 points; ASUS had something like 85 points, and was the top-rated choice. Scoring based on performance, reliability, tech support (for vendors, not end-users) and such.

The resellers I know that sell them only do it so they have something to show the bottom-feeder customers before they try to sell them on something decent. The profit margins are also decent, if you can stand the support burden.
