In reality, noone outside of Matrox knows jack about it.

There are loads and loads of rumors flying around, including rumors of unheard of mem bandwidth, Matrox haven't even confirmed that the card even exists though.

So if you're looking for hard fact, you're gonna have to play the waiting game along with the rest of us.

Me, Im hoping for Matrox to save me, by delivering top notch 3D performance along with their legendary 2D quality, but time will tell.

Hello gjspear
Much of what we have gleaned about the Parhelia project has come from Murc. Although the specs havent officially been announced, several sites have insinuated that it will be impressive. I think the NDA runs out mid May so we may well hear alot more about it then.

The bandwidth figures it seems come from the use of a 256bit path to the memory, what effect this will have on the price who knows but expect it to be quite high end.

There always seems to be the most amazing fiction produced whenever someone thinks a new Matrox product is going to be announced.

It happened especially with the G800, and where did that go.

So if we just hold on a few more days.............

Maybe the fuss is caused by people expecting a quantum leap in picture quality and performance. With the G800, much of the fuss was caused by Murc. This time other sites are beginning to say the similar things to Murc. i.e. Aceshardware, ReactorCritical, NVNews etc.
