Matrox Parhelia is still running $300+... at what price would you consider buying one?

Sub $200 for retail. Word on the street is they are coming out with a low end part later this year. I have no further datails though.

I'll wait for this card to hit the bargain bin of less than $30 before I splurge to get it. The card has 0 features that I'm truly interested in AND for desktop use, ATI/Nvidia's $100 offerings work quite well for my development and gaming.

If there was a PCI version and I could somehow get a second LCD, then I might consider getting one for $150 for use on a second display for 2d stuff (but only if the 2d quality was noticeably better than a DVI TFT on the 9700 Pro).

I sure would like to have that beautiful 2-D that it provides. If I could somehow get that 2-D with the power of the 9700 Pro for 3-D then I would pay $500.00 for that card. But as it is $100.00. If I could only get a mobo with 2 AGP slots, then that would do it. Yeah I know, forget about it.

Unless you want >2 displays, are unsatisfied with your current CRTs display quality, or 10/10/10/2 rgb it sounds like this card has no purpose.

The good news is that within 4 years Matrox should finally release a card that will outperform geforce 4600 cards (as the zealots were predicting all last spring)

But gaming on all resolutions is sucky with the Parhelia

I would pay around $200 Canadian to play around with it. The card does have some sweet features that might become useable if you water cooled it and cranked it up a bit

I wouldn't even take it if they give it to me for free if it have poor Windows driver.
