I'll be visiting US in July and would like to shop there for computer parts.

I guess 'ThoroughBred' will be out by then, and so I have built this spec:

AMD Thoroughbred (of some speed...)
EpOX/ABit/MSI/Asus MOBO
512MB DDR-RAM
GeForce4Ti4200

My questions are:

1) At what speed will the first TBreds work?

2)Will the KT400 be out by then? If so, Does someone have any information about upcoming moatherboards from EpOX/ABit/MSI/Asus?

3)Which Ram should I buy? At what speed? (PCXXXX)

4)I guess that the Ti4400 prices will drop by July this year; Is the Ti4200 still my best bet?

*** I currently have a Matrox G450 Videocard. AFAIK, the 'Parhelia' will come out during the summer (July) and I tend to go with Matrox.
The Parhelia is supposed to be AWESOME!!! How much will it cost, and how does it compare to GF4Ti4X00?

I should also note that I am willing to pay up to $700 on those FOUR parts (CPU-MOBO-3DCard-RAM) .
I'll be visiting Chicago, New-York-Citiy and Florida.

Can anyone recommened me on good, reliable, inexpensive copmuter shops???

I thank you all in advance!!!

NewEgg.com is great. You can also check out a place called pricewatch.com, they have loads of different stores you can shop from. There are a few other stores but I cant quite remember them off the top of my head. The fastest T-Bred you'll be able to find is most likely 1800mhz, no one has a clue as to when the KT400 will be out so you'll have to watch and see. If you want to everclock I would go with some PC 2700 or PC 3200 DDR from Samsung, Mushkin, or Crucial. Ti4000 is a much better buy in terms of the amount of extra power you get. Do a search on the Parhelia stuff, there are many threads on it.

The TBreds will be initially released in XP 1700+ thru 2200+ speeds. If you don't mind spending a little extra $$ you might get a little extra performance out of PC2700, otherwise go with PC2100 (IMO, others will likely disagree). Also, go with PC2700 if you plan on overclocking. I heard that the Parhelia cards will go as high as $450, and will supposedly be 20% faster than the Ti4600, but we won't know for sure until it actually hits the market. I doubt the KT400 will be out by then, since VIA hasn't even announced it. The KT400 may be a while in coming, since there isn't much point in DDR400 on Athlon processors.
