A friend is offerning this board to me for a nice price of $50. I have a TNT2U now which is @ 89MHz (133 on a BX chipset). Think the G400 will run at that high of an AGP bus?

Do you think that I'll notice any speed degration or boost in Quake3? I'm mainly buying it for 2D, but I'm afraid my 3D might take a hit. The reason he's selling the board is because it's having some incompatability problems with his Athlon (based on the KX133 chipset).

This just might be too good of a deal to pass up. :D I'll have a free TNT2U though..

I run my max with a c2 so it's only at 100 fsb, but from what I have heard they are amoung the best for handling high fsbs. And from what I understand they are a hair faster than a tnt2u in 3d, that's a steal go for it, and if you want to give away your "free" ultra let me know ;)

and the 2D.. <drool!> nice and crisp.

I'm wondering if it might be a flaky board, so he's going to bring it into work and install it on one of the Celeron 400s / BX and see if there's any problems with it, before I buy it.

G|T, if you don't buy it, send him my way! :) I would definetly buy a G400 max for $50 over my TNT2 M64 (OEM cr@p).

Anand's review of the G400 and MAX is here

It looks, like the G400 max will not be better in 3d that you TNT2U (at least in Q2)
