Reloaded was great, but Revolutions left me dissapointed, if only because theres no closure to a lot of questions. One of the the major subjects of the last 2 movies was Purpose, yet so many storylines seemed to be without purpose, dead-ends.

BTW, try explaining Reloaded and Revolutions to someone who was lost after the Blue Pill/Red Pill in the original Matrix

They blew it when they had Neo possess super-natural powers outside the matrix. It became impossible to suspend disbelief after that. IMHO that ruined the whole series for me.

He could only detect and influence machines in the real world. He was connected to the machine source, it wasn't that hard to buy. What ruined the series for me was the piss-poor dialogue, wardrobe, and pacing of the last two movies.

Connected by what? 802.11b???

Sorry, but unless he was jacked in, he was not connected.

The oracle explicitly stated he was connected. Obviously there was some sort of wireless deal going on with him being able to be in the matrix w/o a hardline. If he had started wall-walking or flying in the real world I'd be onboard with you, but the nature of his real world abilities fall in line with the movie's reality without too much of a stretch.

The only explaination is supernatural. There is no other way he could see when blind, and stop machines with his hands.

It ruined the whole plot for me. At first, I thought it was going to be a "matrix within a matrix" sort of plot like The Thirteenth Floor. When it wasn't, all suspension of disbelief came crashing down.

I share your point of view. I don't see why Neo should have super-powers outside the Matrix.

i think the dip in sales can be attributed to word of mouth which generally bashes the film. me and my friend's came out severely disappointed, and when i went to work, the very first thing my co-worker said to me was 'was it just me, or was the movie really that bad?'. the fact that people who have varying movie tastes than me and other people i conserve with on a not so constant basis told me that yes indeed, the movie wasn?t as great as was led to believe.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they didn't nearly promote it as much as reloaded and as stated by C'DaleRider, it was 3 years between the 1st one and reloaded and only 6 months between reloaded and Revolutions, I don't think people are as excited about it because of this, plus people were so die hard fans of the 1st that they held huge hopes for the 2nd and were let down.

He could only 'see' machine code when he was blind. That along with stopping machines and jacking into the matrix directly has other possible explanations within the reality of the movie other than having to be anything supernatural. Hell, the oracle might have slipped him some code in one of those peices of candy in Reloaded that allowed him to do this. Remember the cake scene when food was used to transfer code? And Smith was evidence that code was able to exist within a human in the real world. Or the ability may have been innate and dormant before, but Neo said just before he trashed the squids in Reloaded that something had changed, he could feel them. Like I said, his powers in the real world were very specific and limited (to detecting/affecting machines), and are easily explainable within the reality of the movie without having to resort to being supernatural, divine, or anything other than completely rational within that context.

I hope so, i want the trilogy badly. Hope they'll include tons of extra goodies and such.
