Matrix Revolutions really tumbles second weekend gross receipts.......

First weekend, Matrix:Revolutions grossed $48M, second weekend only $16M. Guess it has no legs at all. Elf, on the other hand, dropped only $4M from one weekend to the next..........from opening the same weekend as Revolutions with $31M to the second weekend of release at $27M, and topped the charts for this weekend; Master and Commander came in second with $25.7M in receipts, and Revolutions finished a distant third.

Kind of disappointing for such a hyped movie.

i thought revolutions seemed really underhyped, not near as much as reloaded. i saw it opening night and i think there were about 15 people in the theater.

yeah, reloaded was hyped so much, then again it was three years later, and it was semi disapointing, hope revolutions turns out better i'm going on tuesday to see it

I loved the first one, Reloaded was good, but this one just plain sucked. I'm finding myself telling friends to wait for the DVD.

The current record for $100million is 3 days. $100million in two weeks isnt all that impressive for an expensive blockbuster movie like Revolutions.

I really enjoyed Revolutions, but its a good idea to watch the Reloaded DVD a day or two beforehand, to
catch a lot of details that might have been forgotten in the interim.

yes they were. And with scripts like these, this is really the only way to handle it. IMO because the time lines were so close together.

What ruined the series for me was the down-syndrome bag boy who had more on-screen time in the 3rd movie than Neo... and the fact that by the third installment, jacking in and out of the matrix was routine as opposed to exciting... or maybe it was the cheezy Agent Smith "THIS IS MY WORLD!" (cue corny-not-so-special-effect of Agent Smith on a blue-screened-rope swooping down to knock over Neo) part..

There were too many things wrong with the third movie to list. It pisses me off because they took what could have been a really good end to the series and treated it like an afterthought.

Maybe if they would have cast Gary Coleman as the down-syndrome bag boy it might have been somewhat worthwhile to watch. Maybe.

Yeh. The Wachowski (sp?) brothers said they didn't want to hype the 3rd one as they won't need too. They said they'd name a date, and they would come.

The oracle explicitly stated he was connected. Obviously there was some sort of wireless deal going on with him being able to be in the matrix w/o a hardline. If he had started wall-walking or flying in the real world I'd be onboard with you, but the nature of his real world abilities fall in line with the movie's reality without too much of a stretch.

The only explaination is supernatural. There is no other way he could see when blind, and stop machines with his hands.

It ruined the whole plot for me. At first, I thought it was going to be a "matrix within a matrix" sort of plot like The Thirteenth Floor. When it wasn't, all suspension of disbelief came crashing down.
