The Architect said that The Matrix had been created Six times, and each time Zion was destroyed, only to again come about. So if that is true, would Zion be another Matrix or something?

Actually, the Matrix persisted. Zion was destroyed 6 times. Each time a handful of people rebuilt the city and started the cycle again, at least this is what I got out of it. It was such a mind twist that I need to see it a couple of more times.

Yup, that's the parallel.... we infected the matrix and the programs are infecting the real world. Matrix reloaded brought a lot to be discussed. great film

And on the same note, that's why I think Neo developed more powers at the end, and it wasn't an EMP or something...Agent Smith in the asphalt fight scene talked about how he got destroyed by Neo, but now had part of Neo in his "coding" now, even tho he didn't understand it...likewise, I think Neo has some extra abilities now in the real world...takes something substancial to cause a difference (just like the last movie), and in this one, I think it was the death of Trinity.

Wasn't it more of him talking to God (Architect) and him realizing that the matrix is w/i a matrix? So he rationed that he would still have powers in the "real world"

Yeah it's b/c each time "the one" chose to sacrifice himself and explode everything. Then everything gets rebuilt. This time "the one" Neo chose the other door to go back into the Matrix to fight it out instead of essentially rebooting or probably what that is, is a form of God's wrath / Noah's ark.

the movie wasn't very kind when it comes to explaining..

no, zion was not destroyed. Earlier in the movie, they said they were going to deploy ships to certain places for a counterattack, that is what failed. At the end of the movie, they hadn't gotten to Zion yet.

What confused me were the TV's in the background... were they just displaying possible reactions from neo, or were they displaying the his past forms reacting to what the architect said? During the movie, I thought it was the latter, so when neo walked to that door, I thought he was doing the same thing the others before him did. But now, it makes more sense- the whole "what sets you apart from the others is love" thing. Still, I have to watch it again...

lol... dude looks just like my religious studies prof at school...

anybody else like "WTF??" when they saw CORNEL WEST with the cameo? and also, roy jones jr. was in several scenes.

and i'm sorry but everyone and their mother was confused by the massive zion orgy. what was the point of that?

and, not to be racist or anything, but did anybody notice how like 80% of the people in zion were black? i mean, i love my bruthas and sistas but i was just astounded by the sheer volume of non-whites in the movie. being a non-white myself, i'm all for it but i just found it kinda funny.

What I dont understand is why neo went into a coma after using his powers. If the world he is in is just another matrix, why would using them do that to him.

Just my guess, but....
It may be the initial effects of being the first person to ever do something like that in that current Matrix. In the first movie, he came to a realization that he had control over the Matrix, so thus he didn't go intoa coma. This time, it was just a feeling, but he didn't know he could do such a thing in his current "reality". It must have thrown him into a coma by doing something so groundbreaking without full realization beforehand. As quoted from Princess Bride, "inconceivable!".
