ROTK won't do as well simply because they're talking about a 3-3.5 hr runtime on it.

I wish they'd go by # of tickets purchased and not even mention $$$. At least with the # of tickets you can say it did better/worse than previous films. (Usually you can find a chart comparing the tickets sold to old films, but, they always put that in as an afterthought).

I guess for the studios it's all about the $$$ but I could care less.

Or.. gasp.. they could rate it based on how good it is :) I mean.. titanic doesnt deserve to be on any charts.

the one thing you wanna be careful about seeing it at an imax theater is the fact that the version you will get will only be 120 minutes as apposed to the regular 138 minute running time. This has something to do with imax limitations. However, if the 18 minutes they cut off is from the rave scene, then all is good.

I'll see it sometime, but I think the first one was the absolute best and no 2nd edition of the movie will be as good...

See in the matrix, the fight scenes looked impossible, but they actually looked real. In the matrix reloaded, they look all animated and crap... I don't like that. I can still tell what's 3d generated, and it sucks to see how some of the fight scenes were carried out...

that's just my opinion though.

yeah, but nothing is real in the Matrix, so how can you tell if the CG look was intentional or not?:p

Cool...only reason I haven't seen this movie is cuz I'm seeing the movie in a Digital Cinema on tuesday kind of ironically, with the developers of DLP.
