If anyone out there is running Matlab 6.0 on their system there is an m-file called bench that provides a nifty little benchmarking utility. This tests various things such as FFT calculation, LU factorization, and a couple of others. It gives a bunch of subscores and a composite. The best I have been able to get is about 20.2 and I was curious what other setups are getting, particularly if you run an Intel system. As always, any posts of system specs and results or suggestions and information are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

Will I find this on the student edition? I haven't installed it, and I will, if you can tell me that it's in there. I'll just take a look tomorrow, or later today.

Well, I can't promise that it is in the student edition, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't be since it is part of the Matlab core and not part of a tool box. Either way, I recommend the installation since you have it and it is a useful tool for math and system simulation.
