math question: how do you calculate exponents?

Yes, I know how to do 2 to the 4th power..... but there's something that I've NEVER learned in all my years of taking math:

How do you calculate somthing like 2 to the pi, or 2 to the e, or 2 to the 3.75, for that matter?

You'd think they'd teach that somtime in school... I've gone through 2 semesters of college calculus and never learned it.

i remember learning this, but i've forgotten. at least we learned how to do with simple fractions. i don't think we ever learned how to do it with stuff like pi... i usually just use a calculator 🙂

with simple fractions it is the number raised to the numerator's power, then you take the denominator root of it all.
