Reasonable Doubt

Some simple math.

This too should be interesting.

Yeah the teacher has done 10 minutes for 2 pieces = 5 min per piece...

Time required for 3 pieces = 3 x 5 = 15 mins.

There is a really obvious reason why this is wrong.

Well duh, the new board is 12"x12". The first cut is 12" long. But the second cut is only 6" long.

this. LOL. but there EXIST genuine/honest teachers who correct their mistakes.

i have found them to be very rare. Hell I have heard of people getting in trouble for trying to get a question marked wrong corrected.

What then is the correct answer? Show your proof.

Took 10 minutes to cut a a board into two. This means, 10 minutes for a single cut.

Then, if she has to make two more cuts to cut another board into 3 pieces, 2*10 = 20.

C'mon, I'm terrible at math and I picked this up.

Kid is correct. It takes Marie 10 minutes to make one cut. Cutting a board in 3 pieces would require 2 cuts and thus 10 minutes. Marie is a n00b.

Sigh. How can the next generation be good at math when we have teachers who fails at simple reasoning? Teacher is a n00b.
