well i'm still kinda stuck on this...part b asked to find an expression for the population after t hours. The answer is y(t)=500e^((t*ln 8)/2) but I'm lost where the ln 8/2 came from

y(t)=500e^((t*ln 8)/2)

y(2)=be^2x=400
y(6)=be^6x=52600

400/e^2x = b = 25600/e^6x
==> e^4x = 64
==> 4x = ln 64
==> x = ln (64)/4

y(2) = be^(2 * ln (64)/4) = 400 ==> b = 50
y(6) = be^(6 * ln (64)/4) = 25600 ==> b = 50

Well, going on something as simple as that, I think the 500 initial starting point is wrong, it should be 50.

Eh.

No problem. Just returning the favor to all the dozens of people whose homework I learned off of, and copied once in a while. Karma's a good thing sometimes.
