matching RAM?

I run 1 stick of 512 Corsair Value Select PC3200 RAM right now in my Epox ep8kda3j (Skt 754) and I'm looking to buy a second stick of 512 since the market is pretty cheap right now.

Is it critical that I match my stick, or would a second stick of another brand with the same general specs (not necessarily same timings?) work?

there is a possiblity of incompability, it used to be a big problem back then...now its much less of a issue

if you run two different ram, assuming no issue, your limiting factor will be the slower of the two. for example, if you are running a stick of pc2100 ram with a stick of pc2700 ram, theoretically you can only achieve 2100 (266mhz) speed
 
Newegg has a really cheap set of Kingmax PC3200 (2x512) right now. Thinking about splitting one with a friend, although I preferred to match just in case, and because it's easier on the mind.

The Kingston is $100 at Newegg. I don't think I've ever heard of Kingmax; it's kind of like Honda and Hyundai - I confuse the two all the time.
