Match Point and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Match Point- One of the only Woody Allen movies I somewhat liked. There are some slow parts throughout the movie, but it's worth a watch (especially for Johannson). The last 30 minutes of the movie were really good, I never expected the guy to go as far as he did. Good tale of telling how the majority of your life is based on luck.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children- One word- Amazing. Awesome CGI effects. If you enjoyed the game, you will for sure enjoy the movie. A definite purchase!

meh, advent children was a tacky mess. i mean it woulda been good as cut scenes in a game, but as a movie? total failure.

Disagree completely. FFVII was better then most of the movies I've seen all year. I had no idea CGI could be done that well on a movie level. Huge thumbs up to Square Enix! Excellent movie!

<-- Quickly nods head and says "hmm"

I thought Advent Children was a great movie. One of the best I've seen lately. The CGI and editing were amazing, as was the music. The characters were good as far as I was concerned, but I haven't completed all of FFVII yet so I wasn't sure who some of them were. It seems to me that people who liked the game would like the movie, it is that way for my friends and I.

i didnt like advent children, i guess cause i didn't really understand whats was going on. The fight scenes for the most part were ok, but that one scene where he was getting boosts from all his team members was a bit weird..

the english dubbed voice acting sucked ass IMO
voice acting for the games FFX and FFX2 was better than this MOVIE

Yeah I noticed that as well. Personally, I don't think it really took that much away from the movie overall, however.

I was wondering about the voice acting. The version I saw was in Japanese with english subtitles. Some of the interpretations didn't come across too well and were kind of funny but it didn't take away a great deal from the movie as a whole.

they tried to match a lot of the voice acting to their lips and mouths as well.
considering that hard of a job (matching japanese with english phoenetics), its okay. but i was saying the voice acting itself is worse than that from the games FFX and X2.

So I saw Advent Children last night.. overall I thought it was good but for some reason I didn't like how they told the story. I thought the CGI looked great (especially upconverted to HD!) and it really added to the fight scenes, but there was maybe a tad too much fighting and not enough story telling. I played FF7 twice in the past and watched the rememberence special feature so I was ready to understand everything being told, but I agree with what someone posted above saying it would do better as being cut scenes in an FF7 sequel or something (wishful thinking on my part). I'm glad they decided to make a continuation out of my favorite console game of all time, but I wish there could have been more, it seemed like the story just wizzed by and I wanted more when it was all over with.
