Wait, Top Chef Canada? Is there any way to see that in the US? Are there DVD's? I didn't even know it existed but would love to watch.
 
I can't stand Master Chef. All three judges act like they could shit in a pie pan and the world would eat it up and ask for more.

i haven't gotten that impression at all. they just are demanding perfection and are blunt and honest about the flaws in the food.

although it did take me a while to get used to that italian guy.
 
I don't understand how contestants go onto Hell's kitchen not knowing how to cook the items they have on the menu every season.

it's kind of refreshing not seeing ramsay shouting at people all the time, talking normally and giving some advice as he walks around during the cooking portion.

the fat guy in the comic book glasses and the balding guy wearing the tux jacket got on my nerves during the judging. ramsay probably would too if he wasn't toned down from how i usually see him nowadays.

i should probably just dvr the f word. wish channel 4 was making more ramsay's kitchen nightmares. that show was so much better than the extreme makeover restaurant edition that we get here, with the reality show soundboard and and constant cuts to mouths agape.
 
Finally had some time tonight to catch this week's episodes. I was kinda rooting for Christian from the start, simply because he's a New Englander, but man, that guy's an idiot. He acts like he's the best chef on the show, but he hardly ever shines.

If I had to pick 3 who I hope win, it'd be Ben, Derek, or Tracy.
 
I didn't like seeing Gisepi (sp?) go home. I liked his personality and the way he cooked. There are a lot of entitled douche bags on Master Chef that I would have liked to see leave.

I feel like a lot of the show is too played up and dramatized for television, and that usually who you the viewer thinks did the worst will end up staying and they send someone who made one tiny little mistake home.

Most of the time it usually comes down to like, 2 people that are definitely going home, and usually it could go either way between those 2. However, Derek did a better job on the Eggs Benedict. Giuseppe's egg was raw, and the whole dish was a mess. Derek's didn't have the sauce, but the rest of the dish seemed to be fine, so I can see why Giuseppe was sent home.

He also got very lucky using that premade pasta. That could have ended in disaster. I wonder if any of the 3 judges would have been able to tell.

I expect Giuseppe to post in the "When has cutting corners paid off for you?" thread.
 
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu forgot there was 2 episodes this week and came in here and spoiled the latest episode 🙁
 
Down to the final two, the winner will be known in less than an hour.



Yeah, I'm happy about the final 2 contestants.
