Masterchef 9/15/10 *spoilers inside*

and she didn't know shit about anything outside of southern cooking

so what? every chef you've ever met has mastered evey form of cooking?
half the places i've eaten, the chefs could barely cook the shit on their menu.

even the better places.... just cuz something has a "major name" on it.. doesn't mean the chef is a master.

Not a master, but at least they've seen it and experienced

Also: seriously, eat at better places.

I don't walk into the a Rick Bayless restaurant and expect half the menu to blow balls. Shit man, I don't walk into a ghetto dirty ass Vietnamese restaurant and expect half the menu to blow balls, but then again I only go to restaurants I know are legit.

I'm not saying she doesn't have skill, cuz she does, but Masterchef is recockulous

i forgot.. everyone on ATOT makes $1.9mil/hr...

if i go to a steak place.. like... Outback, or Texas Roadhouse... order a Medium Rare steak... i expect medrare.. not med.. not well.

if i go to olive garden.. i expect al dente pasta... not overcooked.

yes.. i do expect the chefs to be able to cook food at restaurants.

I guess that's where we differ - I expect stuff out of OG and Outback to suck ass.

I'd go on Chowhound and find a spectacular hole in the wall run by some mom and pop that's been doing that shit for 20 years, not some college drop out cook (my buddy was a cook @ Outhouse)

Bingo. I am constantly suprised that people go to the big chain restaurants that serve crappy food and have no real trained chef in the kitchen, just a trained monkey who churns our the paint by numbers food on their factory kitchen menu, and then complain that the food is bad.

I will definitely search for local restaurants that have good reviews take a chance on them. Sometimes I lose and the food isn't great, but more often than not I find some great local food.

that show sucked. i watch a little but after i heard the one snobby judge say he was insulted by how the food tasted i shut it off. Anyone who gets "insulted" by someone else's cooking can go shove it....

The recession even hit ATOT. The average is down to $1.7M and only 2 super models.

i'm not surprised whitney won, but david making it to the finals was a shocker. the show downplayed his presence the whole time, and he's a crybaby pee-wee herman look-alike.

over here, the judges are known as gordon, smashmouth and bitchface 😀
