Master tech

How would you know?

My honest opinion is that some pass as an ASE Master Tech and are actually really good. Some pass as an ASE Master tech and are really good at taking test, but suck at being a mechanic.

What actually counts is time, experience, and the real world quality of their work.
 
I once worked with a "Master Tech" in the marine business. The only thing he could do was take a test. If he was stuffed in a paper bag, he never would be able to figure out how to get out. Troubleshooting he did not know.
