Tool - Lateralus

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see there is so much more
and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.

Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line.
Reaching out to embrace the random.
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.

I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Spiral out. Keep going, going...

No comparison what so ever.

Man that is so deep..Yawn
rolleye.gif
It's deeper than Metalica.
I take it you were never a fan of Plato either 😛

How did this turn into a Metalica vs. Tool thread anyway? Threads can take some crazy turns in these parts. Regardless, I'll leave you Metalica fans alone to wallow in your delusion😀

[/quote] I'm even less a fan of pretentious little wankers who equate the lyrics of soon to be forgotten Pop band with Plato!

Maiden is good... but seriously man.. they're a pvssy band to me..Queensryche is better 😛 ... Metallica is the ultimate epitome of metal. There's a few good bands here and their, but nothing like Metallica man.

Pvssy? Unlike Metallica, Maiden can still rock as hard as they did 20 years ago. Metallica might as well wear dresses when they tour.

I was just making an allusion to my previous statement, although I do feel that Tool lyrics are pretty philosophical.
You can say what you will about Tool, but they are not a pop band and I'm pretty sure that Tool is one of the few bands from this era that will be remembered in 50 years assuming there are still people alive to remember them.

I bet more people will remember Britney Spears than Tool. I like Tool but they aren't all that!

With effiminate fscks like you running things I wouldn't want to be!

I hate both with a passion myself 😉

But I'm not really a fan of any music that comes out of a Gen X'er

Sounds like someone needs to attend a Metallica concert. They are better right now then they were five years ago.

When was the last time you were at a MetallicA concert ? I don't know how on God's green earth you can make that statement. They are the absolute best at putting on a show - still. I think a simple setlist will even show how much of that teenage angst they have in them. There's a reason they sell out their shows in minutes. Even in friggin Belgium.
