Massive damage found from northeast earthquake

There's a video of Blitzer doing a street interview of a guy and then the guy brings up terrorism, at that exact moment a middle eastern guy with a turban walks in the background on his phone and lingers there. LMAO, what perfect timing.

My prayers go out to all people affected. Truly a terrible tragedy.

I hope the government is going to handle this well, and not actually force people to go get up to pickup those fallen chairs and fix other damages.

In all seriousness, anyone hear about a nuke plant that got affected? Someone at work was telling me this. They lost power, the backup generator failed, and then the secondary kicked in. So it was a close call, especially for such a small one.

They didn't lose power, they went to backup as a safety precaution, and from what I heard, 3/4 backup generators were working. Who knows tho, the one that wasn't working could have been out for a long time.

Yep, it was near the epicenter in VA. But I didn't hear about the backup generator failing.

Off-site power was lost for 4 hours and 25 minutes, during which 4 of the 5 emergency diesel generators provided AC power to the plant. There's a reason that plants have more generators than they need to keep the reactor cool. Furthermore, off-site power was restored long before the suppression pool would have become saturated the the reactor would have lost the ability to cool itself.

Jesus.
